The Portrait of Haiti offers a glimpse into the soul of Haiti, capturing the essence of its people both within the diaspora and on the island itself. Exploring the agriculture, culture, economics, geography, and rich folklore that make up Haiti and the Haitian people, the project delves into the everyday lives of individuals who form the “POTO MITAN”- the backbone of Haitian society. This project serves as a window into the heart of Haiti, revealing both its imperfections and its profound raw beauty. With over a decade dedicated to this visual journey, I am now sharing a selection of photographs, many of which are unpublished. I invite you ALL to witness the hope, resilience, and rich African heritage that define Haiti and its people through these photographs.
